As you can see in the print snapshot below, which continues for another 4 pages of specifications, these special aerospace shear bolts bolts are a tough part to make.  5/16-24 thread pitch is used for the threaded section, with a thread locking patch.  A286 material is used to make the part, with heat treat and passivation per AMS 2700.  We supplied the customer 6 pieces of each of NAS9921C5B20F and NAS9921C5B19F, made specifically for their order and specifications.  A number of secondary operations, from passivation to dry lubricant application, made these shear bolts a challenge to manufacture within 6 weeks of order placement.  Working closely with the factory engineering and operations staff, and overnight shipping the parts inbetween all stages of the services, we were able to get the parts done in time for the customer’s deadline.
